You did it – $47,000 raised in 2011 year-end challenge!

Thank you to everyone who doubled their gift giving impact and responded to our year-end challenge grant. Our board and a generous anonymous donor offered to match gifts dollar-for-dollar in hopes of raising $30,000 by December 31st. You did and then some. The numbers are in and $47,000 was donated by more than 122 people.

We are so grateful, and touched. Before the end of January we’ll be completing our barn stabilization, crossing our fingers the mild winter continues for a bit. We also have a great start to our 2012 Breaking Barriers Fund – these monies provide scholarships so that we never turn anyone away due to lack of financial resources. That’s a good thing since 36% of our riders in Session 1 of the New Year requested reduced tuition. The Breaking Barriers Fund keeps our tuition low for everyone, but some of riders next a little extra help.

Halleck Creek Ranch is a lean and mean operation with only 3 full-time employees. Community support is essential for our survival. In 2011 you exceeded our hopes and prayers. That says to us that what we do and what this ranch is means a great deal to a lot of loving people. On behalf of our board, volunteers and staff, thank you and best wishes for the New Year.
